Famous WW2 Quote
"We no longer demand anything, we want war."Joachim von Ribbentrop, German Foreign Minister, Aug 1939

The two smaller columns of smoke left of Arizona’s plume are from the burning USS Cassin and USS Downes in Drydock #1, left, and USS Shaw in the floating drydock, center. The oiler USS Neosho is seen entering the Submarine Base as she shifted berths from the Ford Island gasoline dock so the time of this photograph can be fairly well determined as about 0910, local Hawaiian time.
