There is a wealth of stuff going on in this picture. As well as the two Jeeps there are a couple of M29 Weasels and the ubiquitous 6x6 - plus the paratrooper on the right looks to be carrying an M1A1 Carbine (folding-stock).

Note also the M1 Garand rifle in a vertical scabbard mounted to the Jeep, the odd trailer behind the Jeep, and the steel telegraph pole installed by the Signal Corps to restore communications.
