Your comment prompted me to research this photo again and I was able to find a Coast Guard source I had not seen before. The Coast Guard identifies this photo as a PBY with Patrol-Bombing Squadron 6 at Bluie West One (now Narsarsuaq Airport) and I see no reason to doubt them. The caption has been changed accordingly and I thank you for your comment that sent me looking for more information.

There were no quonset huts on Bluie East 2. I was stationed there in 1946-47.
