The man sitting was not a US Marine but a A US NAVY Corpsman attached to the first Marine Division. He had just seen the head of his buddy, who was also his co-worker, explode. The man sitting was there saving lives and had no gun. He was Phm3c Everett Charles Wilson. He was my father.
