The official Navy version of this photograph is reversed left-to-right from what is seen here, which is incorrect, of course, because that orientation has everyone saluting with their left hands. Despite displaying the image reversed, the official Navy caption describes Rear Admiral Shigematsu Sakaibara as standing in the right foreground, which is correct for this orientation.
