My 1 St fsb was tua this. From there we moved by covoey to Cambodia. We were the next to the last Artillery unit out of Cambodia. A Self propelled unit moved into our fsb and we moved out at night while the SP unit fired illumination rounds to light our way and so that we could see anything/one that might be approaching along the road. Thanks boys.

April 69 - March 70 I was crew chief on COBRA in "C" 5/42nd Arty. Still don't like Chinooks to this day. I think I remember Thu Thua, Charlie did not like our Bee Hive rounds.

SERVICE THAT PIG:
Good front shot of what I've been telling you
wheels are elevated, base plate supports weapon.
In the field the Howitzer is laid the same way using wooden blocks to support base plate.
M108, 105mm SELF-PROPELLED HOWITZER:
In Vietnam besides towed artillery self-propelled
guns were also used 175mm, 8 inch, M109, towed guns 105mm and 155mm.
Last artillery battalion I was with, equipped with the M108, 105mm Self-Propelled Howitzer the 3rd Bn 6th Arty the 105mm Howitzer enclosed in a turret.
