My grandfather was one of the crew on the USS Bluefish SS-222. I believe he was a diesel mechanic ,and had told my father ,who intern told me of a time on the submarine when they were in an attack with a Japanese sub and a torpedo from that sub had came so close to sinking the Bluefish that they could hear the enemies torpedo actually scrape along the side of the hull! It was an amazing and terrifying story to hear!
