THE NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES:
F4U-5N Corsair was a night-fighter variant of this famous fighter. Armed w/4 x 20mm cannons w/231rpg, starboard wing mounted AN/APS-19A
or AN/APS-6 radar.
The F4U-5N could still carry 8 x HVAR rockets, bombs, drop tanks and napalm. Phased out and retired from service by 1956 Post-War operators
were France, Argentina, El Salvador and Honduras. Today there are (57) fifty-four surviving F4U's in the USA...a few have found their way around flying the "Air Show Circuit"
