She arrived at Pearl Harbor March 27 1943 after leaving the South Pacific due to a problem with her number 2 prop and shaft. She headed back to Noumea with HMS Victorious in TG 52.2 on May 8. She trained in the South Pacific with various groups until returning to Pearl for drydocking in September prior to Galvanic.
