Jeep-nuts will recognize this as an interesting photograph. Both Jeeps are shown with their spare tires mounted to the side of the vehicle instead of the rear as they came from the factory. This was an unusual field modification that Patton was a particular fan of and was meant to allow better access over the tail board.
