Famous WW2 Quote
"All that silly talk about the advance of science and such leaves me cold. Give me peace and a retarded science."Thomas Dodd, late 1945

Hello
I am researching my family tree, and I am looking for information on my Uncle Sydney Lawrence Smith who I know from a letter his father (my Grandfather) left saying.
“Sydney Lawrence Smith Killed in Egypt. Notified middle of 1942”.
I think I have found his Memorial which is at Alamein. It looks like he died in January 1942. Aged 23. Do you have any information on Sydney or about the Memorial site in Egypt? Do you have any Photos of the British Army in Egypt at this time? Any Information would be appreciated.
Regards
Paul Smith
