TALLY HO!
Squadron Leader Finlay's Spitfire was coded KL-Z
Aircraft was later assigned to No. 54 Squadron coded DL and AP a fighter and fighter-bomber unit.
Donald Finlay joined the RAF in 1935 took part in the Battle of Britain wounded during dogfight August 1940 with Messerschmitt BF-109s.
During WWII Commanded No 41 Sqd. promoted to Wing Commander and later to Group Captain survived WWII, retired from the RAF in 1959.
TALLY-HO:
The phrase tally-ho largely a British phrase, that was shouted when the hunting party's guarry was sighted.

MAN AND MACHINE:
Spitfire Mk.IIa P7666 of No.41 Squadron flown by Squadron Leader Donald Finlay, he shotdown two Messerschmitt Bf-109s Nov. 1940
THE WELL DRESSED FIGHTER PILOT:
Looks like Squadron Leader Finlay has been issued his "Mae West" life jacket, Type "C" leather flying helmet w/goggles, gloves and 1940 flying boots.
RAF pilot wore under their flying suit, the blue/gray RAF uniform, with shirt and tie ribbons awarded them were worn on the jacket
