Maginot Line Timeline

30 Sep 1939 French forces on the French-German border fell back to the Maginot Line in anticipation of a German invasion.
4 Dec 1939 King George VI arrived in France to inspect British Army and RAF units and to view the French Maginot Line.
16 Jun 1940 Germans broke through to Dijon and reach Besancon in France, while continuing a wide assault on the Maginot Line.
