- The Germans lost 36 Linsen boats - small motorboats packed with explosives - attempting to disrupt traffic in the Scheldt estuary controlling the approach to the port of Antwerp, Belgium. - Four TDR drones, each carrying a 2,000-pound bomb, were launched against Japanese supply caves near the coast of Keravia Bay, south of Rabaul, New Britain. - Submarine USS Narwhal arrived at Mios Woendi, Dutch New Guinea (now Papua, Indonesia). Narwhal's fourteenth war patrol was concluded. All passengers were disembarked and transported to the base hospital. On arrival, Commander William Holman relieved Commander Jack Titus as Narwhal's commanding officer.
