- USS Iowa held a post-overhaul shakedown cruise in the Chesapeake Bay on the east coast of the United States. She was grounded in mud briefly, without causing any damage, during the cruise while maneuvering to avoid collision with other ships. ww2dbase [Iowa | CPC]
