Atlantic Ocean
  • British steamship Royal Scot struck an acoustic mine in the North Sea, east-south-east of Spurn Point, England, United Kingdom, and sank. British patrol vessel HMS Pintail, providing escort for the convoy, sailed toward the sinking site to rescue survivors.
