AGANIST THE ODDS: ROLL THE DICE

Mitsubishi A5M1 (Claude) flown by pilot Flight Petty Officer Kanichi Kashimura of the 13th Air Group, Second Air Flotilla, Shanghai, China flew his damaged fighter back to base.
Damage from ground fire and a collision with a Chinese Hawk fighter over Nanching December 1937, Kashimura flew 600km / 372miles with
1/3rd of the wing torn away.

Aircraft was returned to Japan and placed on display in its damaged condition at the Naval Military Museum during WWII.
