ww2dbaseGerman submarine U-2501 was commissioned into service under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Otto Hübschen in mid-1944. She served as a training boat throughout her entire career. Hübschen was transferred away in Nov 1944 (eventually to command another submarine, U-2542, in Mar 1945). She conducted no war patrols during the war, and was scuttled on the same day that the city was surrendered to the British, 3 May 1945.
