SS-Obersturmführer Egger started the war in the Luftwaffe but an injury in a Bf109 during the Battle of Britain forced a 'career' change! He survived the war being highly decorated and wounded 9 times.

This picture must have been taken between January and april 43 when Das reich where instrumental in the capture of Kharkov at that time. This tank is commanded by SS-Obersturmführer Egger.
