Closest to the camera along the wharf at the submarine base are eight PT Boats of Motor Torpedo Squadron 1. Four are nested alongside PT tender USS Niagara and four are nested alongside submarine barge YR-20 acting as a PT tender. Astern of the PT Boats is submarine tender USS Holland with seven submarines nested alongside. More submarines and some yard craft are moored in the finger piers at the end of the point. The large ship beyond the headquarters building is the transport USS Wharton.
