On top of fighting a war they had to deal with volcanoes!

Spettabili amici, scusatemi se vi scrivo in italiano. Quello che si vede è uno degli aerei posteggiati presso l'aereoporto alleato di Terzigno, area a S.E. del Vesuvio, ditrutti dalle ceneri del Vesuvio durante l'eruzione del Marzo/Aprile 1944.
