The range of the Stuka was far too small.Certainly for Russian distances.
Airfields had to be not farther away than about some three hundred kilometers. That was even in western Europe a drawback

"Sturzkampfflugzeug" German for Dive Bomber
the Ju 87 was successful as a dive bomber
when the Luftwaffe enjoyed air-superiority.
During the Battle of Britain, the Stuka was
withdrawn because of losses to RAF single-
engine fighters.

In the early days of the invasion of Russia
the Luftwaffe enjoyed air-superiority.
Later it was lost fighting against the Russians, who were able to put into service
modern single-engine fighters.

The Stuka was assigned to ground attack, the Ju 87D was armed w/ 2x37mm cannons for tank busting. The Ju 87D had a range of 950 miles
