  • Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin appointed Sir Thomas Inskip to coordinate the three defence services. Although he would have no department Inskip was only able to preside over meetings of the service Chiefs of Staffs and endorse their decisions. But by so doing he was able to obtain more money for the Navy and Air Force to purchase new equipment. ww2dbase [AC]
