ww2dbaseThe FNAB-43 submachine guns were produced by Fabbrica Nazionale d'Armi di Brescia between 1943 and 1944; about 7,000 examples were built. Uncharacteristic for submachine guns of the era, they were designed to be very precise and efficient, thus they had to be made by hand, which significantly lowered the output quantity. Their magazines could be hinged forward for storage immediately beneath the barrels, and the stock could be folded forward to the side of the weapons; these features made FNAB-43 submachine guns very compact weapons to carry while not in combat. They were used by Italian and German troops against the Allied advance up the Italian peninsula.Sources:
