Several sources caption this photo as being Spitfire IIa P7883 of 611 Squadron. This is clearly a Spitfire with a flat line to the upper engine cover where the Hurricane's upper engine cover slopes downward toward the nose. This aircraft also has the Spitfire windscreen.

That looks to me to be a hawker hurricane
