United Kingdom
  • A wayward British Lancaster bomber returning from a bombing raid had a close escape when multiple Mosquito aircraft were vectored into the area, the night fighters only recognised the ailing British bomber as it came out of cloud and into the moonlight. These Mosquito aircraft were then themselves buzzed and attacked by others failing to hear that there were other patrols being sent to the area. ww2dbase [HM]
  • US Ambassador to the United Kingdom John Winant met with US Army Air Forces generals Carl Spaatz and Ira Eaker to discuss the possibility of conducting another major supply drop for resistance fighters in Warsaw, Poland.
